Northern Poland's trail network follows a natural corridor shaped by the last Ice Age. From the pine forests of Tuchola in the west to the Masurian lakes in the east, the landscape shifts through sandy moraines, peat bogs, and river valleys. The Augustów Canal — a 19th-century waterway — doubles as a towpath open to walkers between June and September.
Trail markings in Poland follow the PTTK colour-coded system: red for main long-distance routes, blue and green for regional loops, yellow for shorter connectors. All routes described in this archive use official PTTK-marked paths.
